A creative space for music and ideas, St George’s Bristol presents world class artists within its historic auditorium and new Glass Studio. With a superb acoustic and unique atmosphere, St George’s boasts a full and vibrant programme of over 250 events each year. St George’s welcomes artists ranging from soloists to full symphony orchestras, across programming strands including Classical, Jazz, Folk, World, Spoken Word and Family.
St George’s new pavilion-style extension opened in 2018, housing the Glass Studio performance and exhibition spaces, a landmark Luke Jerram sculpture ‘Apollo’, and a new Café Bar serving a locally-sourced day menu and pre-concert evening food. The Glass Studio is also now home to the Listening Room series of conversation and music events.
St George’s is based in the heart of Bristol’s city centre off Park Street, between Clifton and Harbourside. As well as hosting an international programme, St George’s is a space for the local community, and local artists and ensembles. Dedicated to bringing a unique musical experience to diverse audiences, St George’s Learning & Participation department runs the ‘St George’s in the City’ scheme, taking musicians and recitals to community centres and schools in the Bristol area.
