St John’s Smith Square is unique amongst London’s concert halls. It is a beautiful baroque Grade I listed building with a renowned acoustic and history of 300 years of music-making. It occupies a special place in the hearts of performers and audiences alike.
St John’s Smith Square is renowned for performances by chamber orchestras, choirs and vocal ensembles, and period instrument groups, hosting over 300 events each year.
The artistic programme at St John’s Smith Square consists of a range of flagship festivals, including the London Festival of Baroque Music, the Christmas Festival, the Holy Week Festival, the London International A Cappella Choral Competition and the Occupy the Pianos Festival. Alongside these festivals there are regular Thursday Lunchtime Concerts, the Sunday at St John’s chamber music strand and the much admired Young Artists’ Scheme. These promotions are all complemented by a full and diverse series of concerts and events with partner orchestras, choir and promoters.
